Bridget the Seal point is fiercely devoted to my friend Helen and won’t allow anyone else to touch her (which can pose problems at the vet’s). Luna the Lilac point was rescued by Helen just after she gave birth to kittens with a mystery moggie dad. Helen nursed shy sweet Luna and the sickly, weak kittens to health, paid their vet’s bills and found them loving homes. Helen is a very kind person.
This picture is special because these two gorgeous girls rarely cuddle up together.
My friend Helen is a fellow cat-lover and shares her home with two fluffy black cats and three Siamese.
As you can see from today’s photograph, sweet baby Pearl joined the family a few short months ago. Chris and Helen’s little one was born 8 weeks early and caused some worry for a while. Happily, she is now thriving and Helen is back at work, while Chris is relishing his r??le as a full-time dad.
Naughty Winston claimed to be baby-sitting this morning, but Helen says it was really just opportunism; cats are not allowed to sit on Pearl’s wool blanket. I imagine this picture was snapped, then Winston was chased.

You may recall Luna, the pregnant lilac point Siamese cat rescued by Helen Daykin. This picture shows one of her bold and healthy kittens balancing beautifully and fearlessly on the top newel post. They’re leaving in a week and Helen can focus on all the cats left at home.

A month ago, Helen Daykin rescued a beatiful female Siamese and her 5 kittens from dreadful neglect. Luna and her babies have put Helen and her husband Chris through the emotional mill, used acres of newspaper in floor protection and cost all the Christmas shopping money in vet’s bills. However, after the most recent health scare, when things looked very black, the vet prescribed some last-ditch antibiotics to combat an infection which threatened the lives of the kittens and perhaps even take Luna.
Happily, the latest news from Helen (see her blog here) is that all cats have responded well to the medication, but it’s a nightmare administering it. Any self-respecting cat will scratch, bite and struggle if you try to medicate it, so Helen and Chris have adopted the tight-towel-wrapping approach. This is Raffa (a little female), bound up and helpless.
Chris and Helen, you are devoted and kind animal lovers; Luna and babies are very lucky indeed.
Kind-hearted cat lover Helen has rescued this beautiful lilac female and her moggie kittens. There is a mysterious but sad back-story and the cats have arrived with various ailments, including cat flu and fleas. The new addition to Helen’s home is called Luna. I love her pretty name. Soon, the babies will need homes.
