A Cat A Day: 185/365

I’ve been to Y11’s Prom this evening. It was a lovely occasion and I will miss so very many of my pupils. I left a little early, because I was starting to get sentimental.

But I didn’t leave without pocketing a beautiful cupcake and I’m now enjoying it with a cup of tea in my new Hello Kitty mug.

That’s the best cat I can offer you today . . .

Hullo. My name is Patchy. I am a rock star. Hey, I’ve got this cool puzzle (see if you can do it):

Q – Who is the coolest most awesome cat in the world?
A – PAT_ HY (Hint: C)
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool. Oh, and so is my brother, Sooty. He wanted to be in the picture, too, but unfortunately, he couldn’t make it
(evil grin).Sarcastic smile

I received this message this morning and felt I had no alternative but to bring Patchy to you immediately. It was the evil grin which convinced me . . .
I wonder what kept Sooty back?? Locked in a cupboard, trapped under Patchy’s paw . . . ??

Today I received this cross-stitched purrfect cat from Alexa Lang, the mother of Gareth, who was in my tutor group and my French class and has officially left today. Alexa made specially it for me and I was so touched I cried. She added a very kind personal message and it made me feel appreciated.

Thank you so much Alexa. I hope Gareth is still able to walk when he gets back from the coast-to-coast.

This lovely menagerie belongs to Caroline Bailey. The kitty is Miss Pearl and the Yorkie is Lily, and the larger dog is called Daisy. Caroline has another Yorkie, who is called Dolly, who is a bit smaller than Lily. They are so comfortable and harmonious, aren’t they? Childhood exposure to Tom & Jerry taught me that cats and dogs are enemies and I still find it amazing when they cuddle up like this. A little miracle in my eyes . . .

I hereby challenge Caroline to capture all her cats and dogs in a single photograph!

Rosie doesn’t like me. She makes it very obvious by being lovely with everyone else and giving me mean looks and treating me with contempt.

However, after I came back from Germany last week, she sniffed me thoroughly and then let me stroke her. I think my new post-Germany scent must be more acceptable, because now I’m allowed to pick her up and she even smarmed around my knees this morning.

I am encouraged.

When Rosie runs, her dangly flabby tummy swings from side to side. It’s hilarious to see and we’ve been trying to capture it on film since she came to live with us in December. This is John’s attempt from today, but sadly his camera isn’t very high quality. We need to get the Flip camera out and keep it handy.

Emma, I hope you aren’t offended, but Rosie’s jelly belly cheers me up every time I see it swing !
