Percy is recovering beautifully and is currently warming my lap, while Milka warms John up. This dreadful photograph shows him preventing us from watching that excellent 1998 action film, Ronin. Jean Reno is one of our favourite actors and the film is set in France. I’m confident next week’s holiday will not be as exciting or as dangerous.

A Cat A Day 2013 #220
Today was a big day for little Percy. He lost his beautiful pom-pom-like gentlemen’s accoutrements in the interests of our entire family’s future comfort and happiness. Male cat urine is appallingly stinky stuff and we just have to make sure our boy cats never spray anywhere. Neutering at 6 months does the trick. Percy has recovered perfectly and is back home and behaving as if nothing has happened.
The smiling gentleman is our lovely vet Gert Briers at Vets 4 Pets in Hartlepool.

My friend Lynda sent me these two pictures of her lovely cat Fudge. He has taken to following Lynda’s husband when he takes their dog Holly on her evening walk.
The other picture shows Fudge’s tail after Lynda’s grandson Jack has kindly applied sun cream to it. I bet Fudge didn’t appreciate Jack’s thoughtfulness.

In a gesture towards topicality, I bring you a Dr Who cat. This fluffy creature appeared in an episode (in which James Corden also appeared) called The Lodger. I would like hereby to state that I approve of Peter Capaldi’s casting; he’s been a weird heartthrob of mine for many years now.

I have been making a loose cover for the footstool we bought from Ikea yesterday. Ted assembled it, in his first flat pack success. But the cover is boring dark grey, so I have made a bonkers cover with some Ikea fabric that looks as if the Magic Roundabout team designed it. I’ll show you tomorrow.
Anyway, I had to get the ironing board out and the boy-cats love it.

Little Ophelia, who we met ten days ago, is settling in well and exploring her home thoroughly. As you can see.

I have Ted to thank for today’s pictures. He stood on his head and photographed the four cats in their banana-box under the dining table. It’s been pretty well chewed since the last time we saw it. I’ll have to pop to Tesco for a replacement.
