Many kind people have contributed pictures to this blog. Emilie Burguin sent me today’s beautiful feline and I have a few more saved up in my computer’s memory to bring you over the next few days. I’m not sure if this is her name, but Emilie tells me this is ‘Petite Noire’ relaxing in a baby’s paddling pool in France in July of this year.

Mum sent me to search out a cat photo so naturally I rose to the challenge. This is Willow (or Wee-Willy-Woo or sometimes just Willy) under our temporary dining table. He was very friendly and I also got some photos of him sniffing the camera. Oh, and that funny shape in the back is Rosie by the way. They are sitting on a box and I think they are there because the radiator is behind them. Anyway, waffling over (I love that word ‘waffling’) and good night. From Isobel 🙂
A month ago, Helen Daykin rescued a beatiful female Siamese and her 5 kittens from dreadful neglect. Luna and her babies have put Helen and her husband Chris through the emotional mill, used acres of newspaper in floor protection and cost all the Christmas shopping money in vet’s bills. However, after the most recent health scare, when things looked very black, the vet prescribed some last-ditch antibiotics to combat an infection which threatened the lives of the kittens and perhaps even take Luna.
Happily, the latest news from Helen (see her blog here) is that all cats have responded well to the medication, but it’s a nightmare administering it. Any self-respecting cat will scratch, bite and struggle if you try to medicate it, so Helen and Chris have adopted the tight-towel-wrapping approach. This is Raffa (a little female), bound up and helpless.
Chris and Helen, you are devoted and kind animal lovers; Luna and babies are very lucky indeed.

My old school-friend Caroline has sent me lots of photographs for this blog and this is the last. The lucky girl who gets to eat her dinner on the kitchen worktop is Miss Megan. Caroline is grieving for her dog Daisy, who recently passed away. I send her a hug and hope she is feeling a little better now.

On Thursday at Presentation Evening, I made a sentimental last goodbye to the group of students who left my school this summer. Most have moved on confidently and are now settled into their new lives of study and work. For all Facebook’s faults, I love it, because it lets me stay in touch with a great group of wonderful young people of whom I became very fond.
Among them is Jason, who appears to be winning a staring match with Poppet, who we first met in March.
It’s Isobel’s birthday and she’s 12!! She was delighted that it was a non-uniform day at school to raise money for Children in Need. The card she is holding was made by her new friend Ffion and must have taken ages to make; so kind and thoughtful. Only problem is how miserable Cosmo looks!
