A Cat A Day 2013 #7

The children and I went back to school today and we’re all tired this evening. It was also Milka’s first day on his own with the adult cats Willow and Florence. I was a bit worried, because Florence walloped Milka twice with her paw yesterday; I’ve never seen her so aggressive. I guess that they are still establishing a hierarchy. All was fine, of course! Today’s picture shows little Milka asleep on John’s lap after a demanding and successful day standing up for himself.

Hello friends. I am running a day behind as a consequence of tiredness, boredom and general bad-temper. However, my iPhone 4S has arrived at last and here is a festive pic of Rosie and John’s tummy. The tv programme is Rev, which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it.

The children have been away for two nights staying with their nana. We noticed that Rosie and Willow became much braver and more sociable while the house was quieter. They like John best and every time he sat down, he had at least one of them on his lap, double-decker-style, if space was short.

I’ve been avoiding the issue, but it’s becoming ever-clearer that Rosie and Willow (who came to live with us at New Year) don’t like me. They both run away when they see me and never let me stroke them.

They like the other cats and the children, but they adore my husband John. He says it’s because he usually feeds them, but I’ve decided to take it very personally.

Here is Willow enjoying a lovely stroking session with John early this evening.

I’m going for a cry now.
