Today I present Winston, who belongs to Helen Daykin. I think he looks utterly contented and comfortable in this very handsome portrait. Cats are very good at being happy, a skill I envy.

It doesn’t matter how many dishes of water are placed around the house, Pushkin still enjoys toilet water straight from the bowl. It means you have to be careful in the dark . . .

Say hello to Fudge. Beautiful Fudge belongs to Lynda Dixon, whose daughter Emma brought Rosie and Willow to live with us. They are settling really well now and Willow has come to sit on John’s knee for cuddles three times this weekend. Progress progress progress.

One day in 1970, my parents went out to buy a Siamese cat and came home with two. Siamese have been part of my life much of the time since. Today’s picture shows brothers Hershey (at the front) and Pushkin who were the first Siamese which ever belonged just to me. This is Nyamuk, my first guest cat.
Nyamuk belongs to my friend Alex and seems to be taking advantage of a pile of clothes Alex hasn’t got round to putting away. Alex needs to find a home for his left-over Christmas wrapping paper too. . . (glad he can’t see my house).
