A Cat A Day: 121/365

My friend Karen Fountain’s cats Geordie and Ginger have already featured on this blog here. Yesterday  she sent me a new photograph of her mum and dad’s cat:

Fudge

‘This is a picture of Fudge, who’s around 14 years old, and he’s my parents’ cat. Fudge is also known as “The Ginger Ninja”, because we are all convinced he is part feral (or possibly bipolar?). He switches from being hugely affectionate to trying to bite or scratch you, without warning. A cat not to be trusted, but much loved, nevertheless.’

Cody is an 8 year-old seal-point Ragdoll who lives with Linda, right next door to my lovely mother-in-law Margaret and sister-in-law Carol. I only met him for the first time this evening and he is so soft, that you can hardly tell if you are touching him. Linda brushes him every day and it really shows; his fur is perfect.

When I asked Linda to tell me stories about him, she mentioned that he responds to lots of whistles with different messages. If someone visits who doesn’t like cats, she tells Cody to get in his bed – and he does!!

But … the best part of the story is that Linda has a stairlift in her house and Cody is very partial to riding up and down on it. I would love to see that!

The children have been away for two nights staying with their nana. We noticed that Rosie and Willow became much braver and more sociable while the house was quieter. They like John best and every time he sat down, he had at least one of them on his lap, double-decker-style, if space was short.

Isobel and Ted have returned now and R&W have gone into hiding…
