Yesterday, we had a cat and a dog, today we have a cat and some fish, courtesy of James Bancroft. This is Gizmo, keeping the closest possible eye on a very odd-looking fish (sorry James, I am a fish-ignoramus). Gizmo looks very comfortable and warm.

I love that the classic enemies, cats and dogs, sometimes live together in harmony. Polly and Merlin live with Annalise Adam and Merlin is still very young and doesn’t yet know what’s what. This is a total action-shot of a surprise encounter. To me, it appears that Merlin is curious and Polly is mightily surprised. Soon I will bring you a picture of Polly at rest.
Great photo; thanks Annalise!

Hendrix is back! He’s a splendid Bengal who we already met on 25th April. I received this beautiful photograph from Mark yesterday and had to share it with you straight away. Gorgeous photography, Mark!

Another quickie after a long day: a daft experimental picture of Cosmo, taken when we had just acquired our first webcam and were having fun with the special effects.

Busy old day today. Just a quickie – this is Cosmo’s father, a siamese tabby point. Cosmo’s mother was a lilac point and he emerged as a pleasing mix – a lilac tabby point. And gorgeous too.

Yesterday was Teddy’s 10th birthday and we had a party for 8 of his friends. This photograph shows him tired and happy, with pink rosy cheeks just before bedtime. Cosmo is his favourite cat and Ted calls him ‘The King’.

Another adorable picture of Millie the kitten today. She lives with my colleague Kate, who teaches . . . music! Gorgeous.

My friend Karen Fountain’s cats Geordie and Ginger have already featured on this blog here. Yesterday she sent me a new photograph of her mum and dad’s cat:
‘This is a picture of Fudge, who’s around 14 years old, and he’s my parents’ cat. Fudge is also known as “The Ginger Ninja”, because we are all convinced he is part feral (or possibly bipolar?). He switches from being hugely affectionate to trying to bite or scratch you, without warning. A cat not to be trusted, but much loved, nevertheless.’

Look who I found in the recycling bag! I hadn’t put it away yet after today’s collection and Willow thought it was a perfect sunny wind-shelter for him.
