The cold weather is on its way. Isn’t it time you made your cat wear a jumper? Our model today is Caroline Bailey’s cat Jasper, wearing Caroline’s Yorkshire Terrier’s jumper. You may think it’s unkind, but I’m very hard-hearted when it comes to dressing cats up; I just think it’s funny.

We went for a walk along Seaton Carew beach this afternoon. It was overcast, but a really mild day. The cat is John’s work of art. Teddy named the cat Whiskers and has written its name underneath, if you look carefully.

Rosie and Malteser as I found them asleep together when I came downstairs this morning. I think Malty is smiling.

My beastly children locked themselves in the bathroom with Willow, who didn’t want to be there. He looks unhappy in his photograph and you can listen to his pitiful (very un-Siamese) miaows too, if you want.

My brother Dan was having a clear-out recently and he sent me this old picture of our lovely cat Steve McQueen. You can read the story of her miraculous arrival in our lives here.
Steve’s story ends sadly. She went missing and we worried about her for a week. One evening, a neighbour knocked and we learned he’d found her dead, locked into his summer house. We don’t know if she was ill and crept in there, or if she died of dehydration and hunger. It makes me tearful to think about it, even over 20 years later.

On Sunday, I brought you a picture of Frank the cat using Twitter. As a matter of pride, I feel that I have to point out that my own cat Cosmo is also familiar with social networking. This photograph from August 2009 shows him helping me to use Twitter.
Reminds me, I’m soooo glad that evil textured wallpaper has gone.

It proved to be difficult to take a photograph of a cat with my birthday cake.

Yesterday’s cats were Frank and Lucky. Rachel sent me lots of pictures, so here is another. This time, Frank is showing his IT skills and sending a few tweets. Clever cat.

Rachel Brockbank is one of the many lovely language-teaching people I have come to know through my Twitter network. Over time, I have met many of them in real life at conferences and teacher events, but I have yet to meet Rachel. I’m sure I will before too long.
Today’s cats are Lucky and Frank. Rachel says Frank likes watching television and tweeting, whilst Lucky is a little more reserved but loves lots of fussing. I have several more pictures of these two and will bring them to you between now and New Year.
Thanks Rachel!

Happy Friday, my friends. Malteser is pretending no-one can see him.
