During this half-term holiday I have found the time and energy to express my creativity through sewing. Naturally, Milka and Percy have helped; you see them here playing with loose pieces of cut off threads from my mini-rubbish bin. The other picture is one of my little fabric creations.

Things are settling well at Siamese Towers. Quartz and Rosa remember each other and have given each other confidence and companionship. Rosa is grooming Quartz as if she is his mum. It seems that my weakness which led me to buy another of Jo’s kittens has been the key to making Rosa settle at last.
Willow is a total dude and is tolerant of and mildly interested in all other cats and hostile to none. Florence is undecided through absence-under-the-bed.
Milka is our only current concern. He’s been hissing at Quartz and has even given him a paw-bat or two. I’m sanguine that all will be well in a couple of days.

Rosa is still in transition from Jo’s home to ours. She continues to be an unhappy girl. You see her still hiding in the utility room. She alternates between the top of the freezer and the top of the tumble-dryer. I’m still telling myself it’s early days. When Willow and Rosie came to live with us, it took about 5 days or so. After 1 week, John fell asleep on the sofa and woke up to find Rosie on his knee.
On a separate note, Milka seems to have been stung by a springtime insect, because his face is swollen on one side. I imagine he ate a bee. He is 100% his normal self, so we won’t dash to the emergency vet just yet.

This is Milka’s mum, Tabitha. Rosa is keeping a low profile still. She likes the utility room and I have been able to get close to her, stroke her and pick her up twice today. Milka is trying to make friends too. I am not worried yet; this is a big change for Rosa, who has always lived in the house where she was born. It’s only natural for her to need several days to adjust.
