Another adorable picture of Millie the kitten today. She lives with my colleague Kate, who teaches . . . music! Gorgeous.

A Cat A Day: 121/365
My friend Karen Fountain’s cats Geordie and Ginger have already featured on this blog here. Yesterday she sent me a new photograph of her mum and dad’s cat:
‘This is a picture of Fudge, who’s around 14 years old, and he’s my parents’ cat. Fudge is also known as “The Ginger Ninja”, because we are all convinced he is part feral (or possibly bipolar?). He switches from being hugely affectionate to trying to bite or scratch you, without warning. A cat not to be trusted, but much loved, nevertheless.’

Look who I found in the recycling bag! I hadn’t put it away yet after today’s collection and Willow thought it was a perfect sunny wind-shelter for him.

It’s a Royal Wedding Cat of the Day! Isobel poses with Malteser.

Cody is an 8 year-old seal-point Ragdoll who lives with Linda, right next door to my lovely mother-in-law Margaret and sister-in-law Carol. I only met him for the first time this evening and he is so soft, that you can hardly tell if you are touching him. Linda brushes him every day and it really shows; his fur is perfect.
When I asked Linda to tell me stories about him, she mentioned that he responds to lots of whistles with different messages. If someone visits who doesn’t like cats, she tells Cody to get in his bed – and he does!!
But … the best part of the story is that Linda has a stairlift in her house and Cody is very partial to riding up and down on it. I would love to see that!

The children have been away for two nights staying with their nana. We noticed that Rosie and Willow became much braver and more sociable while the house was quieter. They like John best and every time he sat down, he had at least one of them on his lap, double-decker-style, if space was short.
Isobel and Ted have returned now and R&W have gone into hiding…

We have already met Pedro here. Pedro lives with Claire Hampson in North Yorkshire. He just loves this windowsill; I think it’s very considerate of him not to knock the birthday cards off while he stretches out.

For me, this is one of the best-named cats I have featured so far. He belongs to Heather Heaton who lives and works on Merseyside in the UK.
This is what Heather told me: “Hendrix is a one year old Bengal, who loves getting the house up at 3am to hear the birds, and then goes back to bed at 8am”.
HENDRIX!! How cool is that name?
Heather says that he and she are both ‘made up’ to be on A Cat A Day. Well I am too and I hope I receive more pictures and stories about this gorgeous boy as the year goes on.

Attila and Genghis (brilliant names!) were wedding presents from Aurel to her partner. They are sisters and the only way to tell them apart is that Genghis has a white patch on her neck and tummy and is a little bit fatter.
I have tons more photographs and stories about them, so we’ll see them again before I reach the end of the year . . .
